Responsibilities & Duties: 

Employee Benefits:

  • Administer company's employee benefit programs including group health, 401k, and Section 125 Cafeteria Plan. Provide benefit orientations, enrollments, and monthly billing reconciliation of premiums due for payment processing.

Safety Programs:

  • Handle record keeping, filing and compiling of special reports as requested by Safety Manager and Director Human Resources.
  • Workers Compensation Claim Management. Manage early return to work and modified duty program, monitor and analyze accident and injury trends, identify areas for increased training and emphasis of accident prevention.
  • Facility Inspections. Coordinate and assists Safety Manager with work area assessment, surveys, and program evaluations to determine the presence of hazardous conditions, such as, noise exposure, chemical exposure, indoor air quality, light levels, confined space, ventilation.

Employee Leaves:

  • Onsite lead person for all non-exempt employee leaves. Works closely with Human Resources Director on administrative paperwork and execution of leaves. Apply appropriate workflow management strategies, to coordinate leave decisions including timely and accurate communications and documentation. Coordinate EDD state disability, paid family leave {PFL) and payroll earnings. Administer necessary agency correspondence while employees are on leave with HR Directors direction.

Recordkeeping:

  • Day-to-day personnel administration, including maintaining personnel information (private & personnel), employee accruals and company non-paid benefits, and leave of absence accrual program (documentation and tracking).
  • Calculate and prepare Workers' Compensation monthly and quarterly reconciliations as well as assist HR Director with preparation of related audits.

Payroll:

  • Prepare, record, process and allocate weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt personnel.
  • Includes set up of court-ordered garnishments, voluntary 401k deferral and matching program, and company cafeteria plan elections.

Recruitment:

  • Recruitment of labor which include developing job description, job posting, advertising, screening and interviewing.

Employee/Trainings:

  • Assist with planning and coordinating employee programs and trainings, communications, health initiatives, CPR/First Aid/AE, Food Safety and other employee programs and training as needed.
  • Make recommendations; identify best training methods to use, track costs, monitor attendance and program effectiveness, and keep records for Director of Human Resources, Safety Manager and Director of Operations.
  • Employee Cross Training -Identify key positions and personnel that need cross training. Assure PPO labor force talents and skills are being identified and fully utilized throughout operations.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Administer various human resources policies and procedures; assist in implementation, compliance and recordkeeping.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation changes/updates; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management and HR Director on needed actions and potential risk or liability.

Employee Relations:

  • As assigned, work with managers and supervisor to identify and clarify employee performance problems; recommend and evaluate potential solutions; implement and monitor agreed solutions.
  • Assist in conducting investigations, documenting and reporting events/facts to Director of Operations and when necessary HR Director.
