Job Description:

Our client is looking for a Director of Maintenance who reports directly to the VP of Operations.  The position is responsible for all locations including locations in California and Mexico. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision and work direction for employees responsible for the upkeep of building and grounds, the repair and maintenance of equipment and machinery and modifications to the structure or layout of the facility.
  • Organizes work from work orders, estimates, worker-hour requirements and delegates work to employees in maintenance department. 
  • Maintains contacts with vendors to requisition materials and supplies for department and monitors a sufficient inventory.
  • Recommends or initiates personnel actions and administers company policies for the department.
  • Manage and coach maintenance team to solve daily operational issues
  • Manage associated maintenance accounts (parts, labor, energy, etc.)
  • Develop downtime reduction plans
  • Maintains and establishes programs of scheduled equipment repair/maintenance/calibration. 
  • Provide troubleshooting skills on-the-floor
  • Participates in the design, procurement, validation, installation and qualification of new equipment.
  • Ensures staffing and facilities requirements are necessary and sufficient to support workload.
  • Responsible for multiple locations including locations in CA and Mexico
  • Operates a forklift when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional customer service and follow-through skills; self motivated and able to work with limited supervision; ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines; strong oral and written skills; strong PC skills.
  • The successful candidate must desire a position in which they will be hands-on while at the same time able to manage and lead a team of skilled maintenance personnel while interacting with the various departments at all plants as well as corporate management.
  • Experience in electrical maintenance & equipment repair will be an asset.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Be dependable/reliable and follow through on commitments, producing timely work to required- or higher-standards, and pitching in to get the job completed.
  • Be attentive to detail and monitoring adherence to company standards.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean Driving Record.
  • Ability to Travel in and out of the Country.
  • 4+  years of experience desired.
  • Knowledge of all plant mechanical and electrical equipment and applications.
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) Required.
