Do you have fresh produce sales experience and a background in grapes?

We are currently looking for an experienced Produce Sales Representative to join our team in the Bakersfield, CA Area.

As a Produce Sales Representative, you will be responsible for working with our team - selling and marketing high quality products to top accounts throughout the U.S. You are also responsible for ensuring that customers are happy with the products they receive and timely service delivery.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is self-motivated, shows initiative, solves problems and gets work done. They will possess a thorough knowledge of grape commodities and use that knowledge to level sales growth.

Requirements: 
  • 2 - 5+ years fresh produce sales
  • Solid  produce background and knowledge of grape growing regions, quality reports, packing/pack out reports, product characteristics and issues, shelf-life, shipping and handling characteristics, pack styles
  • Work within various market conditions, supply availability, and quality levels
  • Work closely with Inspection I QA I QC personnel, cold storage & shipping, operations personnel
  • Make sound shipping and sales decisions with management under various volume and quality variables
  • Proficient with Famous software
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Must be able to work out of the company's office; no remote/home office situation available.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Provide sales account management with retail grocery chain stores, grocery wholesalers, distributors
  • Business development for new accounts, including prospecting, establishing vendor numbers, getting the order, relationship building
  • Negotiate and write F.O.B. orders and delivered sales
  • Maintain sales activity records and prepare sales reports
  • Strong understanding of product quality, seasonality
  • Multi-task and conduct business in a fast-paced environment
  • Monitor and report on sales activities and follow up management
  • Conduct market research and surveys
