Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Purchasing Supervisor to join our team in Atlanta, GA.

As the Purchasing Supervisor, you will be responsible for securing all products, both perishable and non-perishable for our company. You are also responsible for researching, interviewing and negotiating with suppliers to obtain the highest quality products at competitive prices.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, with emphasis in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent field.
  • Five years procurement experience in the food service industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 
  • Professional certification in purchasing a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills, related software, and knowledge of purchasing/accounting processes required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with food distributors, clients and associates.
  • Must be able to interface with all departments and resolve problems and issues; must be able to build teams and establish relationships.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 50 hours a week and Saturdays, rotating schedules at times; ability to work varied hours with early start times.  
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors in order to ensure the most cost-effective prices, highest quality of goods, and best delivery performance.
  • Analyze vendor performance metrics in order to enhance ongoing opportunities.
  • Responsible for the timely planning, scheduling of receipt, and inventory control of the products for the Company.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels for all goods; maintains accurate records to ensure the integrity of all transactions conducted through vendor relationships.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure accuracy of delivery.
  • Monitor product forecast, market trends and suppliers to determine future prices and availability. 
  • Minimize shrinkage/spoilage of fresh fruits, vegetables, proteins and canned line items.
  • Maintain a database of all relevant products to ensure the Company is purchasing the most consistently available, cost-effective product and highest quality goods in the market.
  • Work as a team member with sales, warehouse and distribution personnel.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food and nutrition procurement laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Compose clear, complete, and concise correspondence and reports
  • Communicates favorable purchasing opportunities to management.
  • May lead and direct work of others.
