Job Description:
We are a produce cooling and shipping facility in Yuma, Arizona. Currently, we are recruiting for a Controller to oversee our organization’s accounting and financial activities.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments;
- Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, Human Resources, and Operations etc.;
- Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for the executive management team;
- Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals;
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary;
- Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms;
- Work closely with the executive management team in the development and economic evaluation of various benefit programs for staff and program components;
- Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks and casualty/liability insurance agent(s);
- Supervise overall Operations (including: Safety, Security, Computer Services and Building Maintenance)
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have proven success in an accounting environment, utilizing Great Plains accounting software. Prior experience in the agricultural and/or cooling industry a plus;
- Successful completion of one budget cycle, which includes preparing reports, review with managers and analysis throughout the cycle;
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and related experience and/or training in accounting, finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience desired;
- Demonstrated ability to create and develop accounting reports and systems;
- Must be well organized, a self-starter, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and adjust tasks in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.
- Must be able to make sound independent decisions based on available data;
