Produce Sales Executive

Job Description: 

We are a grower, marketer, importer and exporter with year round supply of fresh Citrus, Grapes, Stone Fruit and Apples; focused on maintaining a twelve month full service relationship with our clients.  

We are currently searching for a Produce Sales Executive with a strong sales background, preferably in California Citrus, or one of our core commodities, to work in our Dinuba Ca. facility.

As a Produce Sales Executive, your role is to maximize our company’s sales by developing new accounts, maintaining current client relationships, and bringing along your own book of business. You must be a highly motivated person and a go getter.

We are open to expanding our core commodities if the right candidate brings growers or retail accounts to the table with them.

Requirements: 
  • Talent for making sales and aggressively develop new business.
  • Have at least 5 years produce sales experience or an undergraduate college degree, with some training and experience in Produce Sales environment.
  • Understanding of the fresh foods supply-chain, annual supply / pricing dynamics, business operations, sales contract negotiation, distribution logistics, quality management and claims processing.
  • Citrus, Grapes, Stone Fruit or Apple/ Pear Knowledge desired (not required but it would be advantageous),
  • Computer Proficient, Microsoft Office and Famous software experience.
  • Ability to work in a team.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Monitor market place for new sales opportunities.
  • Secure new business by acquiring new customers and serving current customer base.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate records of all sales and customers.
  • Manage challenges effectively by minimizing potential losses and/or maximizing profit possibilities.
  • Achieve budgeted sales, volume objectives and average sales price by product. Ultimately, contributing to company profitability.
  • Negotiate long and short-term pricing strategies that meet or exceed budget commitments with customers; based on sales targets, competitive environment, seasonal supply, and market demand.
  • Prepare sales reports and correspondence in a timely and effective manner.
Ideal Candidate: 

An ideal candidate will have a business book containing existing business relationships with retail produce buyers, including regional and national chain store accounts, wholesale business and food service. Experience with export and value added sales is a plus. 

The Produce Sales Executive role is to maximize company sales and profits, through sales to current accounts by optimizing relationships to sell twelve month program including limited buying/selling if necessary to manage the business. They must have a strong emphasis on developing new accounts; especially chain store business.
