We have an immediate opening for a Shipping Manager to join our team in Orange Cove, CA.
 
The Shipping Manager works with the Sales Manager, Director of Operations, Packing House Manager, Sales Agents(s) and other packing supervisors. The shipping manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shipping area, material receiving area and quality control supervision. Responsibilities include the physical control of the inbound material and outbound fruit, documentation, and loss prevention through accurate inventory control.

The shipping manager must solve problems, make informed decisions, and manage the department wisely in order to achieve maximum accountability for sales and accounting.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee the compliance of material receiving and shipping practices according to company standards and ensure all processes are complete and accurate.
  • Oversee the compliance of the quality control practices according to company standards.
  • Ensure that all receiving, and shipping functions are processed accurately, while auditing the validation and recordkeeping procedures.
  • Training of personnel that are entering data and managing their abilities and accuracy.
  • Maintain an orderly receiving and shipping area.
  • Communicate with the Sales Manager, Packinghouse Manager, Sales Agent(s) and packing supervisors.
  • Verify inventory records in the cooling facility with sales and accounting.
  • Help solve problems and make informed decisions that affect the shipping area.
  • Produce material receiving documents, record inventory counts, and note discrepancies.
  • Responsible for the safety and security of all shipping and material receiving personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills: 
  • Ability to understand the process of information and merchandise through computer system.
  • Ability to manage the material receiving and shipping operations effectively.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain records and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee receiving operations.
  • General understanding and comprehension of First In First Out inventory control (FIFO)
  • Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to accurately handle inventories.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of shipping operations managerial experience as a requirement.
  • Ideal candidate would be someone who has worked in Famous and the Famous WMS. 
  • This individual would be a proven leader with experience leading and developing teams with the ability to guide entry level staff.
  • Experience with export protocols citrus related would be preferred but an understanding of export paperwork and interactions with regulatory inspectors for RAC’s would be sufficient.
  • Citrus operations experience is a plus.
