We introduce our members to new ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques with seasonally-inspired recipes that are always delicious, fun and easy to prepare. To support our growth and develop a more sustainable food system, we work directly with family-run farms to grow specialty produce just for us, affordably bringing the freshest ingredients into our customers' kitchens.

We’re looking for an experienced leader and visionary to lead the Blue Apron sourcing and procurement efforts for our Southern Region Operations as a Regional Procurement Director.

As the Regional Procurement Director you’ll be collaborating on the strategic vision of the team, leading your team in negotiation and contracting efforts, and building a revolutionary ecosystem of Blue Apron suppliers.

Requirements: 
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • 10+ years of experience in the food industry, and in particular, a deep understanding of the produce industry
  • Extensive negotiation and contracting experience
  • Passion for the food industry and willingness to learn and grow to meet the changing requirements of the job
  • Process implementation experience
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to build performance metrics and lead analysis
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Experience managing budgets and costs
  • Understanding of sustainable growing practices

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Lead your procurement team in building new supply relationships with manufacturers, farms and growers
  • Spearhead our sustainability program with our suppliers and build a long-term, symbiotic relationship with our growers and farms
  • Own supply chain development, procurement and food costs, and continue to inspire the team to always improve the product in our boxes
  • Provide overall department goal setting and direction based on key performance indicators
  • Interface with other department heads and division personnel to accomplish job functions
  • Review and analyze operating reports with buying staff and take appropriate action when necessary
  • Ensures consistency in quality through support of defined product standards and specifications
  • Assists in team relations and development including; training, performance evaluations, conflict resolution and discipline in concert with Human Resources Department
