Each week we send hundreds of thousands of customers all the pre-measured and perfectly proportioned ingredients they need to prepare delicious and healthy meals at home. We introduce our members to new ingredients, flavors, and cooking techniques with seasonally-inspired recipes that are always delicious, fun and easy to prepare. To support our growth and develop a more sustainable food system, we work directly with family-run farms to grow specialty produce just for us, affordably bringing the freshest ingredients into our customers' kitchens.

We are currently looking for a Logistics Manager - Produce in New York, NY.

As the Logistics Manager - Produce you will manage day-to-day logistic activities for the Farm Sourcing team, craft supply chain strategies that can expand our network of farm suppliers and identify cost-saving tactics. You will also support our Farm Sourcing and Procurement teams, so you’ll be multitasking and managing multiple demands.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years of experience working in logistics.
  • Experience managing refrigerated/short-shelf life products a plus
  • Familiarity with produce production and farming
  • Superior analytical, planning, negotiating and organization skills
  • Demonstrated experience with LTL, FTL and 3PL carriers
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Track record of analyzing data to make sound business decisions
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in the food and ecommerce start-up space

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Identify and implement strategic projects to improve logistics operations for direct purchases from farms across the country, including cost analysis, routing, time in transit, shipping modes, and LTL and FTL carrier mix
  • Create internal tools to optimize the management of logistics for Blue Apron’s Farm Sourcing team and partner farms
  • Proactively monitor daily pick-ups, collaborate with the Farm Sourcing team to address issues and hold carriers accountable for resolving operational issues
  • Monitor trends in carrier performance and troubleshoot issues. Create carrier service scorecards to pinpoint root causes of problems and spur operational improvements to eliminate losses.
  • Establish strong business partnerships and negotiate contracts
  • Provide carriers forecasts and collaborate with our shipping partners to ensure they have the capacity to meet our volumes and service levels
