Job Description: 
Bee Sweet Citrus was founded in 1987 as an independent packer and shipper of California oranges. As our business grew, we added other citrus varieties; enabling Bee Sweet to become the industry leader it is today.
 
Bee Sweet Citrus is now one of the premier growers, packers, and shippers of fresh citrus in the state of California, and is looking for a Director of Human Resources in Fowler, CA.
 
The Director of Human Resources will lead and mentor the Human Resources Department team and assist in the day-today HR Services required for the effective hiring, training, and management of Bee Sweet’s production team members. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to the development and implementation of all human resources policies, programs, and services.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Works closely and communicates effectively with all levels of management to ensure that departmental hiring needs are satisfied
  • Identifies, plans and implements long-term solutions to increase employee retention
  • Works in concert with other HR staff to deliver management and employee training
  • Assists in the execution of the performance evaluation system for all production employees
  • Participate with the team that develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures, prepares and maintains handbook policies and procedures, and communicates those policies to employees
  • Creates, revises and manages job descriptions
  • Coordinates the hiring process for all packinghouse personnel
  • Serves as a consultant to management and employees in regards to employee relations issues
  • Is a knowledgeable consultant to all employees regarding employee benefit plans
  • Maintains knowledge to accurately advise production personnel to ensure compliance with all company, federal, state, and local laws as they relate to human resources
  • Oversees recruiting, testing, and selection process to fill vacant positions in packinghouse operations;
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate
  • Is the subject matter expert on the human resources information system and will take the lead on new HR system implementations, including monitoring of employee attendance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: 
  • A bachelor degree (Preferred)
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Human Resources Management field
  • Experience with Production Agriculture (Preferred)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Required 
  • This position requires knowledge of advanced principles and practices of human resources; as well as effective oral and written communication skills (both English and Spanish), excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and oral presentation skills and have a self-motivated attitude
  • Must be detail oriented, possess a strong work ethic, and show ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under frequent time pressures
  • Ability to adapt easily to change.
