Job Description: 

The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTFC) is owned by fruit growers throughout the entire Okanagan Valley, employs approximately 500 employees, and operates multiple facilities. Representing over 430 growers, we market fresh tree fruits including, apples, pears, cherries, peaches, nectarines, plums, prunes and grapes.

We are looking for an outstanding individual for the role of Account Manager to work in our Kelowna Head Office within the Sales Department. The Account Manager will partner with our customers and ensure their long-term success. They will manage a portfolio of assigned customers, new business from existing clients and actively seek new opportunities.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Generate profitable sales volume to meet company plans and objectives
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with accounts both domestic and export
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and settle customer complaints and claims
  • Assist and backup account managers / other team members
  • Recommend pricing action to generate profitable sales
  • Recommend and implement promotion activities to meet plans and objectives
  • Implement, administer and manage annual and seasonal customer specific sales and marketing programs
  • Daily administrative duties related to individual customer requirements is needed
  • Implement and administer annual operating and promotional budgets
  • Work with the F&A department in managing outstanding account balances
Requirements: 
  • Proven work experience as an account manager, key account manager, junior account manager or other relevant experience
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively to clients, senior management as well as other team members
  • Solid experience with CRM software and MS Office (particularly Excel, Power Point and Word)
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to multi task while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Business related degree - sales or relevant field
  • 8+ years of sales / account management experience in produce, grocery or consumer packaged goods preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel as required regionally, nationally and/or internationally
