We are currently looking for a Safety Director to manage our safety program and compliance activities in Fresno CA, as well as in field operations in various growing regions in CA.
As a Safety Director, you will be responsible to working with warehouse, production, harvest and food safety operations to ensure we maintain an industry leading safe work place and keep the company in compliance with the various regulations in our areas of operations.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Human Resources, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Environmental Health and Safety or related field
- 5 years’ proven experience managing safety and compliance programs and HR activities
- Experience in the agricultural and produce industry a plus
- Knowledge and expertise in Workers’ compensation laws and practices.
- Ability to work as part of larger team but manage individual responsibilities, prioritize responsibilities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- You must value and respect all levels of employees and areas of operation
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Proficiency in the English language, verbal and written ability to communicate with team members and employees
- First Aid/CPR train the trainer certification
- Forklift train the trainer certification
- OSHA General Industry Certification desirable
Responsibilities & Duties:

Maintain compliance programs and plans with relevant agencies and departments including;
- IIPP (Injury and Illness Prevention Program)
- Heat Illness Prevention Program
- Hazardous Material Business Plan (HMBP) for 446 N Blythe Ave
- Hazardous Material Business Plan (HMBP) for Shop
- Risk Management Plan (RMP) for the Vacuum Cooler

Conduct Regular compliance reviews to ensure compliance and improve programs in place
- Review with OSHA Consulting of one area of the operation
- Facility and program review with Risk Management Consultant

Facility and Regulatory Inspections
- Annual Fire Inspection
- HMBP Inspections
- RMP Review
- CAL OSHA inspections

Training Programs
- Conduct training for drivers, maintain documentation and ensure enforcement of forklift driving rules, requirements and safety standards
- Work with supervisors to identify and minimize risks in facility relating to forklift operations
- Baler Training Program
- Scissor Lift Training Program

Manage employee injury cases
- Manage immediate care of employee
- Ensure prompt and complete documentation and submission of reports
- Manage incident review or investigation
- Be on call 24 hours Mon-Sat

Employee and Department Meetings
- Conduct safety meetings regularly to ensure all employees are trained and compliant with the program and requirements. Training frequency for each area should be monthly
- Conduct jobsite meetings with Irrigators and shop employees 1 time per month with emphasis on safety and Heat Illness Prevention

Workplace and Culture Improvements
- Work with department managers to identify safety risks, compliance challenges and work hazards.
- Develop improvement plans and work with department managers, maintenance, facilities, or senior management to prioritize and implement improvements
- Develop reward system for employees doing well including frequent verbal recognition as well as periodic tangible rewards
- Document program and compliance progress and evolution of organization and operations

- Attend Captive workshops
- Attend training and education programs as required to maintain compliance with prevailing requirements
