Ayco Farms, based in Pompano Beach, FL, is a premier supplier of a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables from multiple growing and shipping points throughout the world. We grow and import and sell to the top national supermarkets and distributors. As part of our continued growth, we have expanded with a new office location in San Juan Capistrano to serve the western U.S. markets.
We are now seeking successful, high volume sales talent for our melon and vegetable categories to join our team in San Juan Capistrano.
As a member of our experienced produce team you will be responsible for sales of entire fresh fruit and vegetable product line to national retail and wholesale accounts. Specific responsibilities include:
- Achieve business targets – Volume, Revenue, Profit and Market Share.
- Grow business opportunities with existing and potential retail and wholesale customers focusing on improving margin, volume, product breadth.
- Negotiate long and short-term pricing strategies that meet or exceed budget commitments with customers based on sales targets, competitive environment, seasonal supply, and market demand.
- Identify and strategically pursue industry trends in fast-growing segments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the fresh foods supply-chain; annual supply / pricing dynamics, business operations, sales contract negotiation, distribution logistics, quality management and claims processing.
- Prepare sales reports and correspondence in a timely and effective manner.
- Create customer sales presentation materials and present in meetings with retail accounts .
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in high volume sales of melons and/or vegetables
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Results oriented, with a very strong sense of urgency
- Degree preferred
- Proficiency with FAMOUS a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
