As the Produce Sales Associate – Retail Facing, you will be buying and sourcing product from various shippers and growers, and in turn, you will be accountable for sales to retailers, wholesalers, and foodservice.

Requirements: 
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fresh produce both in the sales and buying with a notable record of achievement.
  • Possess the ability to work collaboratively with team members toward the team's goals and initiatives.
  • Established industry contacts on both the customer and supply side of the business.
  • Self-starter with a produce sales background who has the passion and determination to work hard and meet or exceed goals.
  • Ability to evaluate difficult and changing market factors, and recommend or implement effective courses of action.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative within general company guidelines.
  • Possess a proven ability to identify opportunities for business development within key customers.
  • Understanding of the fresh produce supply-chain; annual supply/pricing dynamics, business operations, sales contract negotiation, distribution logistics, quality management and claims processing.
  • Should be a positive problem solver who looks beyond the ordinary solutions to overcome challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems in a confident, decisive manner.
  • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft office packages to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with I-Trade, FoodLink and Internet, useful.
  • Some brief travel may be involved. 
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for sales, planning, allocation, projections, ordering, buying and selling.
  • Responsible for marketing product and maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new customers in an effort to market the Company's product (Snoboy).
  • Add new shippers in new regions, as supplies are needed.
  • Prospect and secure new customers in retail trade channels and the foodservice field.
  • Achieve budgeted sales volume objectives, market penetration, and average sales price by product, and ultimately contribute to company profitability.
  • Provide input as to relevant market information, strategies, visions and goals.
  • Grow product distribution and placement in both new and existing accounts.
  • Develop and communicate strategies to grow market share and customer base.
  • Work collaboratively with team, vendor base and logistic partners to ensure optimal customer service and support.
