National Sales Representative

Job Description: 

The National Sales Representative position will be responsible for sales and marketing of fresh fruits and vegetables in our national sales market area. This person will coordinate with produce buyers and growers to properly match available supplies of fresh fruits and vegetables with the needs of our present and potential customers. The primary focus will be on the marketing of potatoes and onions to our wholesale/national accounts.

Position Reports to: 
National Sales & Marketing Manager
Requirements: 
  • Valid State Issued Driver’s License.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Call specific National account retailers on their respective order days.
  • Seek out new sales opportunities
  • Sales order entry, changes and adjustments.
  • Printing sales report
  • Printing invoices 
  • Complete understanding and familiarity with the Alsum line of products and distribution capabilities  
  • Assist with credit processing
  • Utilize personal skills and experience in sales, customer service, computer knowledge, and customer communication to maximize productivity and sales output.
  • Prepare account presentations and business reviews.
  • Filing invoices
  • Resolve any other customer issues within the scope of authority
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. 
  • Database Management set up and maintain Envio “Trading Partners”
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Work with sales team on special projects
Peripheral Job Functions
  • Represent Alsum Farms and Produce Inc. while interacting with all customers by displaying our core values of:  Integrity, Accountability, Servant Leadership, Excellence and Stewardship
  • Serve as a member of various employee committees, as assigned.
Qualifications: 
  • Education and Experience: Qualified individual will have an aptitude for sales and customer service.
  • Zero to Five years of Sales and Marketing experience, preferably in produce or other perishables. 
  • Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Team player that contributes actively toward company goals.
  • Strong communications skills and analytical ability.
  • Computer experience and ability to prepare account presentations.
  • Positive attitude with track record of success in customer service and data entry.
  • Self-starter and motivated
  • Understanding of developing relationships with customers and providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and customers. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization. 

Tools and Equipment Used (but not limited to):

Computer, Calculator, Telephone, Fax machine and Postage Machine
