Produce Replenishment Buyer - III

Albert's Organics is the nation’s leading distributor of quality organically grown fresh produce and perishable items, (including meat, dairy, soy products, juices/beverages, and much more). We are looking for a Produce Replenishment Buyer in Aurora, Colorado. This individual will be responsible for conducting replenishment buying of Produce category items, identifying potential new items, maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with DC Sales and Produce Category Management Teams by becoming the DC ‘promotions champion’ and provide leadership to DC procurement team members when appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct inventory replenishment duties of Produce inventory for designated distribution center(s).
• Maintain regular communication with sales team members on new products, sales and marketing goals, and vendor programs.
• Establish regular communication with Albert’s Purchasing Division and Produce Category Manager to champion the DC promotions program with Sales
• Be a leader in establishing a network of colleagues from each division, responsible for the success of their respective programs, to collaborate and share best practices.
• Conduct data entry into purchasing system for pricing, promotions and other activities.
• Maintain and oversee pricing and margins for DC Produce Sku’s.
• Develop sales and promotional materials towards top-line sales and margin growth for the DC Produce Program.
• Expand business with existing customer base and develop strong customer partnerships to ensure the success of DC Produce program.
• For new product review and consideration, make recommendations to Produce Category management to improve product lines and enhance program.
• Responsible for maintaining an adequate in-stock position of Produce inventory, ensuring that inventory is turned consistently to maximize sales while minimizing loss in shrink.
• Collaborate with Business Unit Manager, Sales Team and Produce Category Management Team on new product introductions.
• Assist manager in mentoring and training new members of the Produce Replenishment Buyer Team, as needed.
• Observe HACCP and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a highly ethical manner and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• BS degree or equivalent training and experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in replenishment buying or other direct responsibility for perishables inventory management.
• Produce experience required.
• Organics and natural products a plus. 
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and travel as necessary.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
