Job Description: 

Albert's Organics is the nation’s leading distributor of quality, organically grown, fresh produce and perishable items, (including meat, dairy, soy products, juices/beverages, and much more).

We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Commodity Manager in Los Angeles, CA.

As a Domestic Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Pacific Organic domestic growers. You will collaborate with internal business partners to develop and sustain relationships with growers and other supply lines, as well as collaborate with business partners in dealing with forecasting and planning.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience and training required. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an office, administrative and/or sales setting in the produce industry; organics a plus. 
  • Fluent English/Spanish bilingual skills preferred. 
  • Strong customer focus with professional demeanor.
  • Self-motivated and multi-task focused.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, under pressure while remaining flexible.
  • High level of customer service focus for both internal and external customers.
  • Able to set priorities and meet deadlines while accomplishing team objectives.
  • Able to effectively negotiate with the ability to close the deal.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to resolve issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective, positive internal/external working relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Strong computer skills, including Internet, MS Outlook, Word and Excel; PowerPoint a plus; competent to learn and adapt to new computer applications, system upgrades and other technology as necessary.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with management and team members to resolve problems and issues.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays and evenings, as necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage the process, and collaborate with business partners in deal forecasting and planning.
  • Manage assigned commodities and assist in scheduling supply chain logistics and storage warehouse inventory management in collaboration with the Supply Chain Logistics Department.
  • Facilitate inventory meetings with Sales, Operations and Supply Chain staff for assigned commodities, create push lists, and work with Sales in inventory exit strategy and follow through.
  • Provide proactive communication and required reporting to growers, including markets and inventory reporting.
  • Provide timely responses to grower questions and offer solutions to deal problems.
  • Facilitate grower settlement presentations and negotiate for final grower liquidations.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Manager and Grower Settlement staff to ensure timely grower payments.
  • Review supplier relationships periodically through regular communications and supplier visits.
  • Manage supplier performance by ensuring suppliers clearly understand expectations and meet/exceed Pacific Organic’s expectations for agreed-upon volume, logistics scheduling and quality.
  • Manage domestic vendors to ensure they meet required timelines for the Food Safety Modernization Act export vendor regulations.
  • Ensure new grower approval and new/repeating deal compliance requirements are completed prior to the beginning of the business transactions.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in an ethical manner, and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by management.
