Agra Tech has an immediate opening for a hands-on Outside Sales Representative for the Northern and Central California territory.

As an Outside Sales Representative you are responsible for promoting our company’s products and services, identifying potential customers and maintaining current customer relationships.

As the Outside Sales Representative you must be able to travel to equipment shows and interact with current and potential customers. You will be traveling to different customer locations in order to demonstrate how our services will benefit them along with maintaining customer relationships.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and team player with a strong work ethic. We're looking for individuals who are highly motivated to jump right in and help our growing organization. The best candidates will be personable and outgoing individuals who can bring a positive attitude to work every day.

Requirements: 
  • 2+ years’ of proven direct sales experience in the greenhouse and growing industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Agriculture, Business Management, Sales) Highly desirable
  • Extensive network of connections in the industry
  • Able to visualize greenhouse from customer perspective and convert to greenhouse system and price it.
  • Ability to work independently/self-motivated with a determination to meet or exceed goals
  • Must have excellent selling skills, and oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Proven ability to problem solve and respond quickly
  • Hold valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Able to occasionally lift 50 pounds
  • Proven negotiation skills

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Understand the functionality of greenhouses and growing
  • Ideally bring an established customer network
  • Actively involved with local industry
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make cold calls and deepen existing business relationships
  • Responsible for bidding and estimating of projects.
  • Work with the local sales manager and fellow reps to develop market strategies, visions and goals for growth
  • Forecast seasonal product needs by working with purchasing and operations managers, as well as sales tracking and reporting
  • Conduct occasional product demos/trials
  • Ability to travel
