We are currently seeking a Distribution Manager for our Los Angeles location. Candidates should have at least 3 to 5 years of experience with transportation coordination. We look forward to hearing from qualified candidates.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Organizes shipments and plans loads
  • Responsible for driver orientation, door assignments, on-site rules and driver sign-ins/outs
  • Partners with sales and customer logistics to help manage customer expectations
  • Ensures shipment tracking & tracing and other inquiries including rate quotes and special requests
  • Responsible for managing internal delivery truck daily logs and driver compliance with safety practices
  • Supports other duties as required
  • Supervises dispatchers and ensures all duties are carried out promptly and efficiently
  • Ensures that deliveries and Programs Department concerns are handled promptly and efficiently. Looks at new delivery sites to ensure deliveries can be made.
  • Participates in problem solving with Owners and General Manager on delivery/routing/ delivery time issues and ensures corrective actions are taken
  • Works closely with Purchasing to schedule pick-ups of products
  • Arranges in advance with Development Department the drivers needed to assist at special events to avoid any disruption to the normal delivery schedule
  • Understands the routing and can fill in when dispatcher absent
  • Manage labor and make sure drivers are on DOT compliance
  • Fleet Management
  • Manages preventative maintenance program through regularly scheduled vehicle inspections to ensure compliance to DOT and BIT program regulations
  • Secures replacement rental vehicles, as necessary, to avoid disruption of delivery schedule
  • Ensures that all drivers maintain the cleanliness of interior and exterior of fleet
  • Conducts accident investigation for any accident involving a driver
  • Conducts new driver safety orientation and monthly safety trainings for drivers
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications: 
  • 3 to 5 years Transportation Coordinator experience
  • 2 year college degree strongly preferred
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel , Produce Pro, Cheetah Software.
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to continuous change
  • Use independent judgment to analyze problems and to implement appropriate solutions
  • Effectively interact with individuals at all levels within and outside the company
  • Establish and follow priorities
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Respond timely to inquiries and complaints from internal and external clients.
  • Ability to motivate, organize, and supervise individuals.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to transportation.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment, while keeping an affable demeanor.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and strong analytical skills.
